On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi (Tribe) announced that it has made its first annual distribution to the Pokagon-Hartford Area Local Revenue Sharing Board (LRSB).  The payment of $1,043,891.50 represents two percent of the annual revenue from electronic gaming from Four Winds Hartford from its opening on August 30, 2011 through July 31, 2012.

Under the amended compact between the Tribe and the State of Michigan, the Tribe is required to make annual distributions to the LRSB, which will distribute the funds to the county, local governments, and schools in the area.

The five members of the LRSB include Hartford Township Trustee John McLellan, City of Hartford Manager Yemi Akinwale, Van Buren County Board of Commissioner Chairperson Chris Randall, Pokagon Band Tribal Council Chairman Matthew Wesaw, and Superintendent of Hartford Public Schools Mike Hallgren.
