Tribal chairman for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), Mr. Homer A. Mandoka, has been selected as the Tribal Leader of the Year Award recipient by the Native American Finance Officers Association. 

“The Native American Finance Officer Association is pleased to honor Chairman Mandoka with the NAFOA Tribal Leader of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions to Indian Country and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi,” William Lomax, president of organization, stated in a press release. “His dedicated leadership has economically advanced the NHBP and the impact of his leadership is felt across Indian Country.”

Mr. Mandoka  has served on the NHBP tribal government since 2002.  He was elected by tribal council members as chairman in 2010 and reelected to his fifth term in 2012. 

The NHBP own and operate the 107,000 square foot FireKeepers Casino and Hotel near Battle Creek, MI.
