On February 9, 2016, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians (“Tribe”) announced that its annual Four Winds Invitational golf tournament will be held June 17-19, 2016 at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. The tournament is part of the Symetra Tour – Road to the LPGA is one of four Symetra Tour events hosted by Potawatomi nations as part of the Potawatomi Cup.

“We are proud to bring back the Four Winds Invitational to South Bend for a fifth straight year. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians has lived in this region for hundreds of years and this is just one of many ways in which we continually reinvest in the community we call home. We have a great partnership with the Symetra Tour and thank all the volunteers in the community who have made the tournament such a success,” stated Tribal Chairman John P. Warren in a press release on the matter. Over the past four years, the Tribe has donated $267,000 to the Memorial Children’s Hospital from tournament proceeds.

The Four Winds Invitational has been an annual event since 2012, when it was established as part of the Symetra Tour. The Symetra Tour, formerly known as the LPGA Futures Tour, is the official development tour for the LPGA.
