On Wednesday, August 21, the Ohio Casino Control Commission which is charged with regulating fantasy sports contests in the state adopted a comprehensive set of rules governing the industry. William Cox, Assistant General Counsel for the Commission, told www.Cleveland.com that the state and the Fantasy sports industry operators worked cooperatively on the rules to provide clarification to how the industry is to operate in the state. Peter Schoenke, chairperson of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, noted that the new rules affirms the industry’s legality and include “a bunch of consumer-protection measures, and we also worked to make it so that registration fees work for operators of all sizes.”
