Earlier this week, the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the national advocacy organization for people and their families who are affected by problem gambling, announced a new date for its National Awardsin Problem Gambling Ceremony, which will take place the day after its 2020 NCPG Digital Symposium. The ceremony, which under normal circumstances would occur during its main conference, will now take place at 3:30 pm ET on Friday, July 24.

To accommodate the maximum amount of members and stakeholders during the pandemic, the ceremony will take place online. NCPG Board Member Chip Polston will emcee the Awards, which recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for their accomplishments in professional work in problem gambling and responsible gambling during 2019.

"In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to recognize the amazing work done by our members in the problem gambling and responsible gambling fields," said NCPG Executive Director Keith Whyte. "While we wish we could see our members and award recipients in person, we are very excited to honor them following our Digital Symposium. It is our absolute priority to maintain the robust and active relationships with our valued members both during and after the Coronavirus crisis."

The National Awards Ceremony is free for all to attend via the online platform, and pre-registration is required at bit.ly/NCPGAwards.
