Michigan Gaming Control Board Orders MyBookie.ag to Cease Operations in the State
On January 23, 2025, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (“MGCB”) issued a cease-and-desist letter to Duranbah Limited N.V., the operator behind MyBookie.ag, for violating state gaming laws. The online site, which offers casino-style games and sports betting, was found to be accessible to Michigan residents without a valid Michigan gaming license, breaching state regulations.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams stressed the agency’s dedication to safeguarding consumers and ensuring compliance with Michigan’s gaming regulations.
“Our investigation into MyBookie.ag found that their operations were accessible to Michigan citizens, which violates state laws,” Williams said. “We are taking strong action to uphold the principles of fair and legal gaming.”
Duranbah Limited N.V. has 14 days to stop its operations targeting Michigan residents. If the company does not comply, the MGCB is prepared to take further legal action. Michigan residents are urged to verify the legality of online gambling sites and report unlicensed operations to the MGCB.
The MGCB urges Michigan residents to be cautious when engaging in online gaming and to verify the legality of any site before participating. A list of licensed internet gaming providers can be found on the agency’s website at Michigan.gov/MGCB. Anyone aware of unlicensed gambling operations is encouraged to report them to the MGCB for investigation, either by calling 1-888-314-2682 or emailing MIGamblingTip@michigan.gov.
